MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities say a man and woman used stolen data to create copies of credit cards, buying thousands of dollars’ worth of gift cards in Minnesota.
A 35-year-old man from Chicago and a 21-year-old woman from Eagan have been arrested in the case. Court documents say they got credit card numbers stolen through a data breach at Home Depot, and that they then used the information to make fake cards.
The man and woman are accused of using the cards in 15 different cities.
