Get ready to learn and shred documents at a local church.
The Senior Ministry Team at St. Olaf Lutheran Church will bring back the annual fun, social and educational day on May 14. There will be coffee and a treat for the morning and lunch is included. The cost for the day is $5. Several topics will be presented, including “Generational Differences — Where are the young people and why don’t most come to church,” presented by Pastor Paul Lutter, “Diversity and Inclusion — Why should it matter to me,” presented by Kay Hocker from the Rochester Diversity Council, and “Scamming and Shredding,” presented by Thrivent staff and Sheriff Therese Amazi.
The keynote speaker will be Huck Usgaard, a former pastor and former southeast Minnesota bishop. He will present “The next chapter.”
Please register and pick up a ticket in the church office so organizers know how many people to prepare for and avoid long lines at the event. Participants are encouraged to bring documents they would like to shred, as Thrivent will provide a shredding machine for free. The event is open to the public.
