Packer softball team uses sixth inning rally to get past Winhawks

The Austin softball team snapped a three-game losing streak when it beat Winona (7-7 overall, 6-3 Big Nine) 4-2 on the road Tuesday.
The Packers (6-11 overall, 3-8 Big Nine) scored all four of their runs in the top of the sixth inning when Shayley Vesel singled in two runs and Jordan Huntley singled in a run.
“I thought we played really well today. We need to play with the intensity we played with today all the time,” Austin head coach Al Eckmann said.
McKenzi Steinbrink picked up the win for the Packers and Jaidyn Bastian pitched two scoreless innings to get the save.
Austin has three games remaining in the regular season.
