Online school to host information session at Austin McDonald’s on Saturday

Parents have many options for their children’s learning, and Saturday parents can get information for online classroom settings.

Online school MTS Minnesota Connections Academy will be in Austin for a free parent-to-parent information session for families from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at McDonald’s, 1009 W. Oakland Ave.

The event is an opportunity for families to learn more about MTS Minnesota Connections Academy’s tuition-free K-12 online public school program.

At the event, families can explore the school’s individualized learning approach, curriculum, technology-enhanced learning environment, and learn about the enrollment process.

Other topics covered will include: how teachers interact with students in the virtual environment, personalized learning opportunities including options for accelerated learning and gifted programs, college preparation, socialization, the role of the parent or other learning coach and the use of technology.

Connections Academy aims to meet the needs of students and families looking for an alternative to a traditional school setting.
