Austin police are investigating a suspicious fire at an Austin home last week.

Fire Chief Jim McCoy said a fire that damaged a rental property at the 1100 block of Second Avenue Northwest at 3 a.m. Thursday was intentionally lit, according to the state fire marshal.

The suspects allegedly started the fire in the kitchen using on-site materials, according to McCoy.

No one was injured in the blaze and the occupants weren’t at the home at the time of the fire. The fire caused $30,000 in damage.
