Austin Living holding name contest for literary portion
Published 10:43 am Friday, May 22, 2015
Today is the submission deadline for the first-ever literary magazine portion of Austin Living, but the magazine is offering area residents another chance to show off their creativity.
Austin Living will hold a naming competition through May 31 to come up with a creative title for the inaugural literary magazine section.
Austin Living is turning a portion of the July/August issue into a literary magazine by printing art, poems, short stories and other submissions.
This will be an annual portion of the July/August edition. Part of the magazine will be dedicated to the articles and content you’ve come to expect from Austin Living, and another part will be dedicated to artistic submissions from the people of Austin and Mower County — think of how the New Yorker blends articles with fiction, poetry and cartoons.
The deadline for artistic content — poetry, art, fiction, photographs, paintings, etc. — is today.
But but this section of Austin Living needs a name.
Email name ideas to newsroom@austindailyherald.com through May 31. If the editors of Austin Living pick your suggested name, you’ll receive $20 in Chamber Bucks.
Anyone is invited to submit name ideas, whether they submitted content or not.
