Although spring is here, Mother Nature has not yet decided what type of weather to give Austin.
The Austin area received over 1.5 inches of rain Sunday, though Saturday had temperatures up to 75 degrees and Sunday had temperatures up to 82 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Along with the rain Sunday, hail was reported at up to 1.5 inches in the Hayfield area. There were no hail-damage reports as of Monday morning.
National Weather Service Hydro Meteorological Technician Tom Stangeland said this week’s weather will be “unsettled.”
“There’s a large weather system off the West Coast of the US, and it’s going to send off little disturbances to us for the rest of the week,” Stangeland said.
He said there will be a chance of rain every day through the week, though whether it will hit the Austin or Mower County area is uncertain.
