Ankeny’s robbed at gunpoint; Suspect with silver pistol gets cash from 12th Street SW convenience store

Austin police are investigating an armed robbery at an Ankeny’s convenience store.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said the store, located at the 900 block of 12th Street Southwest, was robbed by a white male suspect just before 10 p.m. Friday. According to Krueger, the suspect pointed a silver handgun at the cash register before demanding the clerk give him money.

The suspect escaped with an unknown amount of cash. Krueger said the store employee was the only person inside the business at the time.

The suspect is described as 5 feet, 6 inches, with a slim build and possibly in his 20s. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a blue bandana across his face and black pants.
