Track and field: Packer girls take second and boys finish third

The Austin girls took second out of seven teams and the Austin boys finished third out of five teams at the Dean Bishop Invite at Larry Gilbertson track and field Saturday.

Austin’s Amber Hansen won the shot put and the discus, Madison Overby took first in the 1600-meter run and second in the 800-meter run and Kendall Hackensmith won the 100-meter hurdles and took second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Austin’s boys had a big day on the hurdles as senior Adam Bergstrom took first in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles and sophomore Trent Brown took second in each of the hurdle races.
