CIRCLE PINES — An employee of a tanning salon in Circle Pines is accused of secretly recording female customers as they undressed.

Investigators say the 30-year-old Blaine man made recordings of 41 women with his cellphone without their knowledge between last December and March. The defendant was a part-time employee at Paradise Tan and Tone. He turned himself in to Anoka County authorities March 12. Centennial Lakes police say the investigation continues and all women who were recorded have been notified.

ST. PAUL — A St. Paul man is charged with shooting and killing the mother of their 3-month-old girl on Easter morning.

Twenty-one-year-old Dimitri Harrell was charged Monday in Ramsey County with second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Samirria White.

White’s body was found Sunday on the bedroom floor of a St. Paul apartment. A preliminary autopsy report says she had been shot once in the head.

Harrell and White had argued in the bedroom where their newborn daughter had been sleeping.

Six or seven people, including several of White’s siblings, were at the apartment when police showed up about 3:40 a.m., but Harrell was no longer there.

Harrell is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
