Police look into weekend burglaries

Austin police are investigating two burglaries that took place over the weekend.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said one homeowner reported more than $5,000 worth of tools were reported missing Saturday from a home at the 1200 block of Fourth Street Northwest. The homeowner found a Huskie air compressor, numerous DeWalt tools and chargers, a circular saw, nail gun, step ladder, four windows and even a blow-up water slide were gone, among other things.

Krueger said the burglary took place at some point over the past two weeks.

Another burglar allegedly kicked open a door leading to a garage at the 700 block of 11th Avenue Southwest at some point over the weekend. Krueger said the garage had already been cleaned out, but police found evidence someone had slept inside the structure.
