The Hayfield baseball team opened its season with a 12-2 win in six innings at Zumbrota-Mazeppa (0-1 overall, 0-1 HVL) Friday.

Cam Rutledge picked up the win for the Vikings (1-0 overall, 1-0 HVL) and Jax Bauer had three RBIs.

“It was a good opener for us after graduating most of our lineup from last year,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said.
