—Isaac Ydstie of Adams has received his Post-baccalaureate Teacher Preparation, Science (5-12) from Western Governors University. The university held its 28th semi-annual commencement ceremony in Orlando on Feb. 7.

—Jacob Crosby, son of Chris and Kathy Crosby of Austin, will be participating in the Northwestern Orchestra 2015 Tour to Hawaii, May 18-26. Crosby (Viola), is a senior music education and composition major and a 2012 graduate of Austin High School.

The Northwestern Orchestra will travel along with UNW Faculty Artists-in-Residence Roger Frisch (associate concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra) and Michele Frisch (principal flute of the Minnesota Opera and VocalEssence). The performances will include “Victory at Sea” by Richard Rodgers, “Highlights from Jurassic Park” by John Williams, “Saint Paul’s Suite” by Gustav Holst, “American Fantasia” by Victor Herbert, and a special commissioned work by Hollywood film composer/orchestrator and UNW alum Jordan M. Cox entitled “Arran & Nerys” featuring Roger Frisch, violin and Michele Frisch, flute.
