GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — The man accused of killing a North Carolina community college worker got from the Carolinas to Florida by hitchhiking.

A police report released Wednesday from Daytona Beach says 20-year-old Kenneth Stancil was picked up by a woman after his motorcycle broke down in South Carolina.

The woman dropped Stancil off in Daytona Beach, where he was found sleeping on the beach Tuesday morning by Volusia County Beach Safety officers.
