BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The Blooming Prairie baseball team couldn’t find its offense when it needed it most as it lost 6-4 to Medford (3-0 overall) in BP Monday.

The Awesome Blossoms (1-1 overall) trailed 6-3 when they had the bases loaded with one out in the sixth inning, but the only run they could score was off a balk as two straight BP hitters struck out with a chance to come up with a game changing hit.

“This group of kids is young and they don’t give up. They keep themselves in the game,” BP head coach Matt Kittelson said. “We didn’t do a whole lot to manufacture runs.”

BP tied the game up at 3-3 in the fifth inning when it scored a run on a wild pitch and another run on an error, but the Tigers bounced back to plate three runs in the sixth. BP walked the first three Medford hitters in the sixth.
