Carol Johnson of Austin will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house on Saturday, April 18, at the Oak Park Village Clubhouse from 2 to 4 p.m.

Carol grew up in Blooming Prairie with sisters Dorothy (Betlach) and Lorraine (Cookie Kubicek). She married Truman Johnson and has lived in Austin ever since.

She was know to many as “The Rose Lady” for her huge rose garden and her desire to share their beauty with others. She was featured in the Austin Daily Herald for her work testing experimental roses for Jackson Perkins rose company. Carol will be celebrating with sister, Cookie, many nieces and nephews, daughter Diane (Rick) Anderson and grandchildren, Katie/Brian and Jon/Courtney and many friends and relatives.
