A mother and son duo is reuniting for an Austin show this weekend.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, oboe-player Holly Dalager and her son, Jacob Dalager, an acclaimed trumpeter, will perform at Austin’s Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

The mother-son duo will perform arrangements of folk songs, music composed for the screen, and contemporary works including an ensemble piece by Jacob. The concert will feature a rarely heard German oboe concerto, baroque melodies and demanding classical pieces.

Before returning to the U.S. Jacob performed in Singapore night clubs and as a soloist with orchestras through southeast Asia.

Jacob teaches, composes, and regularly performs with symphonic ensembles in New York. He’s worked with groups like the Moscow Ballet and the Grammy-winning New Age artist Kitaro.

The two will be joined by keyboard artists Janet Gilbertson and Rachel Carlson.
