Inez was born in Freeborn County on June 26, 1923, to Charles and Dorothy (Skamfor) Bailey. She attended various grade schools in small towns around Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1941. During WWII, she worked in the lab at the George A. Hormel Company. Inez married Joseph S. Miller in 1944 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. She was a homemaker while her boys were growing up and was a charter member of “The Sewing Club” in Austin. Joseph died in 1959 and is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Austin.

After Joe died, Inez learned how to drive a car and worked in the cafeteria at Ellis School, Sears and Fantles. She remarried in 1964 to J. Frank Nuzum at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield. They wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona, for many years. She and Frank were proud to be “snow birds.” They helped manage campgrounds in both Minnesota and Arizona. Frank died in 1985, and his ashes are scattered on Superstition Mountain, Arizona. Inez stayed in Arizona until 2004, when she moved back to Austin. She lived at Pickett Place and moved to Sacred Heart Assisted Living when her health started to fail. Inez was friends with everyone. She loved people, camping, music and dancing.
