Dr. Joshua Liao, left, a section leader at The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, accepted a $10,855 donation for Paint the Town Pink from Duane Smith and Jim Nelson, creators of the long-running Fishing for a Cure ice fishing contest, along with Becky Helfritz, state delegate for the Austin Jaycees, which assisted with the event. This year, the 13th annual Fishing for a Cure drew nearly 200 participants who ice fished Feb. 7 on Austin’s East Side Lake, catching about 50 fish.
