Class AA

Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander-Kingsland-Southland junior Parker Hale is making his first appearance at the state meet at 152 pounds. Hale, who is 32-4, will open against Detroit Lakes’ Parker Jackson, who is 39-2.

GMLOKS’s Wyatt Richardson took third place at 195 pounds in the Class A state meet last season. This season, the senior will wrestle in his second meet at 195 and he brings in a record of 33-0. Richardson will open with Pine City-Hinckley-Finlayson’s Dakotah Neid, who is 24-14.

GMLOKS sophomore Blake Benson is making his first trip to the state meet at 285. Benson, who is 29-3, will open against St. Croix Lutheran’s Randy Gehl, who is 26-3.

Class A

Blooming Prairie freshman Jake Arett is making his first appearance at the state meet at 106 pounds. He is 31-8 on the season and will open the state meet against Frazee’s Tanner Schermerhorn, who is 36-2.

BP senior Zach Nirk is making his first appearance at the state meet at 220 pounds. Nirk, who is 26-10, will open against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted’s Garrett Schanus, who is 22-5.

Hayfield sophomore Jackson Heydt is making his first state meet appearance at 113 pounds. Heydt is 21-12 and will open the state meet against Deer River’s Jace Geving, who is 35-4.

Hayfield senior Dylan Arndt is making his first state meet appearance at 195 pounds. He is 11-8 and will open against Kerkoven-Murdock-Sunberg’s Karter VanHeuveln, who is 27-10.
