After the weekend saw 3 to 5 inches of snow, Mother Nature is again expected to blanket the Austin area with snow today.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday for a system expected to bring 2 to 4 inches of fast-accumulating snow to the region in the afternoon and evening.
NWS warned of 1 to 2 inches of snow per hour, which could also lead to reduced visibilities and slippery road conditions.
Tuesday’s high is expected to reach 19 degrees before dropping to an overnight low of 4. Wednesday is expected to see a high of 12 degrees before temperatures drop to minus 9 overnight. Highs should stay in the lower teens Thursday before warming to the upper 20s over the weekend.
The next chance for accumulating snow is Saturday, though it’s too early to tell how much is possible.
