The Austin girls basketball team finished its regular season with a 58-50 loss at Winona (18-8 overall, 16-6 Big Nine).

The Packers (12-14 overall, 10-12 Big Nine) battled back to within two points after trailing 43-32, but they couldn’t close the deal.

“It seemed like we ran out of gas after having to battle back,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said.

The Packers will likely host a Section 1AAA quarterfinal tournament game Wednesday at 7 p.m.
