Kimberly Ann Hickok, 52, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday evening at her REM home in Kasson, Minnesota, with her family and her REM family by her side.

Kimberly was born March 9, 1962, in Austin, Minnesota, to Homer and Evonne (Hawley) Hickok. She enjoyed a happy, healthy childhood until she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at the age of 7. Kim courageously struggled with physical and mental handicaps for the rest of her life, but never lost her childlike spirit or love for the Lord. She attended Austin Public Schools, graduating from high school in 1982. Kim was employed by Cedar Valley Services in Albert Lea and Austin, ABC in Rochester, and most recently Opportunity Services in Kasson. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, her REM family, and her many friends.

Kimberly is survived by her parents Homer and Evonne Hickok of Austin; two sisters: Pam (John) Riley of Austin, and Sue (Jerome) Lewis of Greer, South Carolina; aunts and uncles: Terry and Judy Hawley; and Karen and Lloyd Koestler, all of Blue Earth, Minnesota, John and Di Hawley of Laurens, Iowa, Robert and Sylvia Hawley of Temecula, California, William and Janice Hickok of W. Valley City, Utah, Sharon Willmert of Cambridge, Minnesota; nephews and nieces: Nic (Lexi) Riley of Burnsville, Minnesota, Joy Riley also of Burnsville, Jill Riley of Bogota, Colombia, South America, Nate Riley and Noelan Riley, both of Austin, Katie (Jordan) Harris of Memphis, Tennessee, Andrew Lewis of Greer, South Carolina; great-nephew and great-niece Louis and Cecilia Riley; many special cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved kitty, Angel.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bob and Carolyn Hawley (Willmert-Flentje), Eugene and Vivian Hickok; step-grandfathers: Ward Willmert and Howard Flentje; and her uncle Billy Hawley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Grace Baptist Church in Austin with ­­­­Pastor Brett Williams officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Hickok family.
