Eileen Orlowski, 95, of Austin, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at the Cedars of Austin.
Eileen was born Dec. 24, 1919, in Marshall, Minnesota, to Floyd and Roseanna (Moore) Hosfield. She grew up in Marshall and Owatonna, Minnesota. After graduating from high school in Owatonna she attended St. Theresa College in Winona, Minnesota.
On June 26, 1946, she married Frank Orlowski in Owatonna. They moved to Minneapolis where Frank completed his education at the University of Minnesota. They then moved to Austin, Minnesota. Eileen worked as a medical assistant at the Lommen clinic and Frank was a chemist at Hormel.
The couple enjoyed their winter months in Texas for many years. Eileen enjoyed her involvement with the Red Cross, League of Women Voters, and the Austin Art Center. She was an incredible artist, talented in many mixed mediums.
Survivors include her three daughters: Kathie Frasco and husband John, Marg Richards and husband Don, Mary Bartz; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Walters; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; son-in-law, Paul Bartz.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. There will be a 6:45 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna at a later date. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice, 4481 N. Frontage Road, Suite 1, Rochester, MN 55901.
