Austin girls basketball team wins third straight game

The Austin girls basketball team rattled off its third straight win when it beat Heron Lake-Okabena (5-3 overall) 64-59 on the road Saturday.
The Packers (4-7 overall) led 58-50 and then they had to hold off a late run by the Wildcats.
“The girls played a great game and it was a super effort,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “We pulled away down the stretch and we played some good basketball. I’m very proud of the week that we had.”
Shayley Vesel led Austin with 15 points.
