Victoria M. Maus, 101, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at the Adams Health Care Center.

Victoria was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Dec. 23, 1912, to Anton and Michalina Omietanski. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University Of Illinois School Of Business on June 11, 1934. It was there she met her future husband, Elbert “Bert” Maus and the two were married on April 25, 1936, in Chicago.

They moved to Austin when Bert accepted a position at Hormel Foods. Victoria was a homemaker and a kind and loving mother. They had four boys together: Anthony, Lawrence, Terence and Robert. Bert died on Oct. 23, 2005.

Victoria was a great athlete and excelled at tennis. She won the singles and mixed doubles Austin City Championship. She also enjoyed golf, gardening, music, dancing, and bird watching. She was an excellent bridge player. She was a PEO sister and a member of the First Congregational Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.

Victoria is survived by her four sons: Anthony G. (Rachel) Maus of Mission Viejo, California, Lawrence E. (Jeanne) Maus of Austin, Terence L. (Mary) Maus of Rochester, and Robert M. (Susan) Maus of Austin; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Victoria is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Bert; and a granddaughter Elizabeth Maus.
