Nancy A. Zschunke, 78, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday morning, Dec. 27, 2014, at her home in Austin.

Nancy Ann Erickson was born March 30, 1936, in Austin to Melvin and Katie (Best) Erickson, where she was raised and attended Austin High School, graduating in 1954. On March 17, 1956, she married William L. “Bill” Zschunke in Austin. The couple lived throughout the United States with Bill’s job in the sales department for the Geo A. Hormel Company. They made their home in Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Nebraska and Duluth, Minnesota, where they lived from 1973 to 2002. While living in Duluth, Nancy worked as a secretary and retail clerk. Bill died on July 30, 2006. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed day trips with her friends to the area casinos.

Survivors include two sons: William “Bill” (Jeanne) Zschunke of Atlanta, Georgia, and James Zschunke of Austin; two grandchildren: Erickson and Sarah Zschunke; three brothers: Robert (Darlene) Erickson, Donald (Shirley) Erickson, and Kenneth “Pinky” (Susan) Erickson all of Austin; several nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers: Ronnie and Russell Erickson.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at the Courtyard Apartments, 310 2nd Avenue NE, Austin, Minnesota. In Lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the Austin Public Library. There will be no visitation or reviewal. The Worlein Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
