Dylan on display

Minnesota native Bob Dylan’s music will be showcased in Austin on Friday.

The 1910 Mexican Kitchen and Pub is hosting the Bissen Family Band at 7 p.m. on Friday for a tribute show to Bob Dylan. Owner Gonzalo Cibils is a big fan of Bob Dylan, and was happy when the group approached him about the show after someone overheard him speak about a Dylan show in the Twin Cities.

“I was like, that sounds perfect, because I always wanted to do something Bob Dylan related,” Cibils said.

The band will focus on Dylan’s music, but may also play a few other classic songs. The show is free, and although Cibils doesn’t know how many people will fit inside the restaurant, he was hopeful for a large crowd.

This is the first time the restaurant has hosted the Bissen Family Band.

“I’ve heard that they’re awesome,” Cibils said. “I’ve never actually heard them, but I trust that they are going to be great.”

He said there have already been more than 100 likes on Facebook for the flyer, which was only posted a few days ago.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Cibils said. “I think it’s going to be a busy night.”
