Some of country music’s biggest stars sipped on southern Minnesota cider and wines last night and this morning following the 47th Country Music Association Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery, located west of Grand Meadow on the edge of Mower County, provided four cases — with 12 bottles in each — of Four Daughters wine and 10 5-liter miniature kegs of Loon Juice hard cider to the CMA after party for Universal Music Group.

“It’s a cool opportunity,” said winemaker Justin Osborne.

Universal Music Group has offices in Minnesota, and Osborne said a local representative had heard good things about the winery’s products. Osborne said things happened fast after Universal Music Group representatives called in the order last week.

“Obviously we said yes,” Osborne said.

Along with the cider, Four Daughters provided dry and sweet wines and red and white varieties of each, according to Osborne.

Universal Music Group artists include Little Big Town, which won vocal group of the year; Kacey Musgraves, who won for song of the year for “Follow Your Arrow,” which she co-wrote with Brandy Clark; and George Strait.

“It’s a lot of very big names,” Osborne said.

It was too early this morning to hear of how the artists liked the drinks, but Osborne said he heard rave reviews of the Loon Juice kegs.

“I know for a fact that some of the artists saw the mini kegs and thought they were very cool looking and took them home,” he said.

If they liked the drinks, Osborne hoped the artists would share about them on social media to create buzz about Four Daughters.
