The Riverland Community College Foundation is raising funds to help students meet their goals for the future.
Federated Insurance recently presented the Riverland Community College Foundation with a check for $1,000 to fund a scholarship for Riverland students pursuing a career and technical program in a field that will serve business and industry.
“We are proud to partner with Riverland Community College to provide a scholarship to a very deserving student who is pursuing a post-secondary degree in a trade-related field,” said Julie Rethemeier, vice president and director of public affairs for Federated Insurance, in a press release.
Federated Insurance’s national headquarters are located in Owatonna, with other offices around the country.
“We really appreciate this opportunity to work with Federated Insurance to assist students with the financial challenges they face achieving an education,” said Steve Bowron, dean of institutional advancement at Riverland, in a press release. “Helping students pursue their future career path in a career and technical program helps close the skills gap for our local workforce.”
The Riverland Community College Foundation raises, manages and distributes resources to support the educational opportunities Riverland Community College offers the people of the region.
“We are grateful to Federated Insurance for this wonderful scholarship opportunity,” said Dr. Adenuga Atewologun, president of Riverland Community College, in a press release. “Public/private partnerships like this enable Riverland to prepare students to meet the region’s workforce needs and prepare our residents for gainful employment and careers in the 21st century.”
