Peggy (Carlson) Lemmerman, 98, died at her senior residence in Brainerd, Minnesota, Oct. 6, 2014.

Peggy was born in Frazee, Minnesota, to the late William Louis and Edna (Hill) Carlson.

Peggy and Ray met as teachers in Edgerton, Minnesota, and married July 20, 1939, celebrating 57 years of marriage. Being known as a popular kindergarten teacher, mostly self-taught musician, skilled needleworker and seamstress, church volunteer, and card player were less important to her than her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and hostess at “the Lake” for family reunions. Her grandchildren recall her “camp weeks,” with only the cousins in attendance, being indulged by both Peggy and Ray for nine days of lake sports, bonfires, storytelling, and fun. In later years, she and Ray also enjoyed winter escapes in Maui.
