CHISHOLM — Three Mower County soldiers and their unit are about to be welcomed home.
The Minnesota National Guard’s Chisholm-based 114th Transportation Company is scheduled to hold its 30-day reintegration event and welcome home ceremony at 2 p.m Saturday at Chisholm High School, 301 4th St. SW, Chisholm, after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
“A priority of the Minnesota National Guard is to improve the wellness and resiliency of service members and their family members,” said Army Capt. Ryan R. Koester, 114th Transportation Company Commander in a press release.
The unit includes about 140 soldiers, including Sgt. 1st Class Jesse Kneeskern and Sgt. Robert Cecil, both of Austin, and Staff Sgt. Chad Emanuel of Elkton.
“This will be the first of three reintegration events which provides an overview of the many resources and benefits available to soldiers and their families,” said Koester. “Soldiers and their families are able to select the workshops that pertain to their family dynamic.”
The public is invited to attend the welcome home ceremony.
“We invite the community to attend our welcome home ceremony as our guests,” said Koester. “We appreciate the support the community has provided for the 114 Transportation Company while at home and abroad.”
