The Austin boys soccer team lost 2-1 at St. Paul Como Park (5-2-1 overall) Thursday.

“Como Park’s a quality program and we knew we would get a good game,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said. “It’s not the result we wanted, but we’re still growing as a team and we’re continuing to improve. We’re moving in the right direction.”

Como jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half until Roel Torres scored for the Packers (2-2-1 overall) to make it 2-1 in the 26th minute.

Neither team scored in the second half, but the Packers had a goal called back when Ochan Ochogi had a header that went through the net called back on a pushing violation.

Ochogi’s chance came off a free kick, and Levisen said he wasn’t about to question to the call.

“We tell the players that if there’s a foul, we have to go by what is called,” Levisen said. “At the same time I think the other team was lucky it was called.”

The Packers trailed 1-0 just a couple of minutes into the game and they trailed 2-0 after 10 minutes into the second half, but they battled back.

“We definitely created some opportunities in the second half and we had a number of them hit the pipe, but that’s a game the play,” Levisen said.
