The Austin boys soccer team topped Red Wing (5-6 overall, 2-6 Big Nine) 6-2 on the road Thursday.
The Packers (3-3-2 overall, 2-2-2 Big Nine) led 4-1 at the half and they were able to rest some of their starters in the second half.
“Red Wing came out and played very similar as Faribault played us and they put all of their defenders inside the half-line,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said. “It helped that we had played a style like that before.”
Sean Baker and Jeremy Olmsted each scored two goals for Austin and Roel Torres and Ochan Ochogi each scored one goal.
The Packers had 17 shots on goal and Gach Gach had five saves.
