Margaret Ann Everson was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Austin, Minnesota, to Ervin and Erma (Madera) Everson. Margaret grew up in the Lyle area, graduating from Lyle High School in 1941. After graduation, she went to work in the dry sausage department in the old Hormel plant. In 1946 Margaret married Glendon Lewis Stearns. Together they raised three children. Active in her church and with the Boy and Girl Scouts when her children were young, she always put a caring quality into everything she did. She was employed at the downtown J.C. Penney store in the baby department for many years and became a distributor for Shaklee food supplements. When Glendon retired from Hormel, they enjoyed traveling throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Europe.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Judy Stearns of Ketchikan, Alaska; her son John Stearns of Austin; her brother Paul Everson of Austin; grandchildren Troy Stearns and Kelli Farrais of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews.
