Gerald “Jerry” D. Turner, Sr., 84, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Austin.

Gerald DeWayne was born on July 12, 1930, to Al and Gertrude (Anderson) Meyers in Iowa City, Iowa. Jerry was adopted by Frank and Rebecca Turner.

Jerry enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and always seemed to draw a crowd whenever he stopped somewhere for coffee. He had a very kind heart and would always try to help people. Jerry loved his family with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents Frank & Rebecca Turner; daughter Rosanne, son Eugene, and step-daughter Karen Anderson; great-grandchildren Anthony and Ava; two brothers Lee Meyer and Dean Meyer; sister Mavis.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Shari Mason officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials are preferred.
