Austin band director to speak at library

Music lovers will get a chance to share in the Austin High School’s music program this week.

Brad Mariska, Director of Bands at Austin High School, will give a presentation at the Austin Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Mariska’s enthusiasm for music and his band students has added excellence to the band program at Austin High School. The public is invited to this free program. Come, share the excitement about music enrichment. The program is for parents, students, and all ages of music lovers.

A short meeting of the Friends of the Library will also be held. The annual Used Book Sale is coming up Friday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 11, with a special pre-sale for Friends of the Library members on Thursday evening, Oct. 9. Sign-up sheets to work at the sale will be available at Mr. Mariska’s program.

The public is always welcome to support library programs and projects by joining the Friends of the Library for $10 per household per year. Membership forms are available at this event and also at the front desk during regular library hours.
