Crops catch some much-needed rain

ST. PAUL — Minnesota’s crops caught some much-needed rain over the weekend in an otherwise dry week.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday in its weekly crops progress and condition report for Minnesota that six days were rated suitable for fieldwork across the state last week.
Topsoil moisture supplies are rated 43 percent short to very short, and 57 percent adequate to surplus.
Subsoil moisture is rated 28 percent short to very short, and 72 percent adequate to surplus.
