Austin 6th grader plays at Back to School Bash Tournament in Wisconsin

Teyghan Hovland, a sixth grader at IJ Holton in Austin, recently played for a Minnesota 12 and under Select Team at the Back to School Bash Tournament at Woodside Sports Complex in Mauston and Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Hovland played for the Great Lakes Monsters and he went 9-for-14 at the plate with three doubles and 15 RBIs in five games. Hovland's team, which consisted of players from Burnsville, Hermantown, Apple Valley, Egan, Mahtomedi, Duluth, Eastview and St. Croix, won its first four games, but it lost 10-4 to Asbury Iowa in the championship game. -- Photo Provided
