Jacqueline M. Forcelle, 68, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at her home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1945, to Orin and Marlys (Gordon) Prestegaard in Austin, Minnesota. A 1963 Austin High School graduate, Jackie lived her entire life in Austin. She worked as a secretary at the Hormel corporate office for more than 40 years. Jackie was a member of Northwestern Singers and St. Olaf Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir. Her other favorite pastimes were line dancing, traveling, visiting with friends, and taking pictures of family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters Kim (Perry) Byam of Austin, and Amy (Brent) Mortensen of Woodbury; three grandchildren, Brianna Byam, Cole Mortensen, and Luke Mortensen; sisters Kathryn (Leo) Foley of Coon Rapids, Mary Lou (Kim) Ratz of Minnetonka, and Joyce (Wayne) Krause of Minnesota Lake; longtime friend, Pat Jensen, Austin; aunt and uncle, Ethel and Eldon Norland, Austin; nieces, nephews, cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orin and Marlys Prestegaard.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Gerry Giese officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Worlein Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
