Gary Roy Harrington, 72, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, of complications from a car accident he was involved in June 2014.

Gary was born to Roy and Bea Harrington on April 14, 1942. He graduated from Austin High School in 1960. He was self-employed for most of his working life; later driving a delivery truck in Minnesota, Iowa, and Western Wisconsin. He also delivered auto parts for Motor Supply before retiring in 2013.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, attending many of their events. He liked collecting antiques and was a member of the Milwaukee Road Historical Society. He enjoyed dirt track racing as a young man.

Gary is survived by his wife Karen; children Terry Harrington and Kim Harrington Jensen both of Austin, and Jeff Hanson and wife Jennifer of Prescott, Wisconsin. He has eight grandchildren, Chris Dennison of Ames, Iowa, Nick and Ashley Jensen of Austin, Katelyn and Jackson Harrington of Kasson, Minnesota, Kelcey, Kinser and Kassidy Hanson of Prescott, Wisconsin. Brother Richard and wife Pat of Kingman, Arizona. Sister-in-law Alice Harrington of Austin; nieces and nephews. He is also survived by mother-in-law Inger Hanson; brothers-in-law and wives Smiley and Marcia Hanson, and Dennis and Anne Hanson, all of Austin. Sister-in-law and husband Dana and Alan Kingsbury of Plainview, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Warren and DuWayne Harrington.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 204 1st Ave. NW, Austin, MN. People may send condolences to the Gary Harrington Family at 909 17th St. SW, Austin, MN, 55912.
