David Lee Alford, 57, of Eyota, Minn., formerly of Austin, Minn., passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his home in Eyota, Minn.

David was born Jan. 10, 1957, in Rochester, Minn., to Fredrick and Mildred (Himle) Alford. David graduated from Austin Public Schools. David entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.

David married Kristi Anderson in 1981. Together they had two children. David worked various jobs until he started a Heiman Fire Equipment in Iowa. Later he retired due to illness. In his spare time, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, collecting guns and was a member of the Cedar Valley Conservation Club. He also spent time at the hunting land and had been a long time member of the National Wild Turkey Federation in Austin. David was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Fred Alford and his sister Donna Schneider.

David is survived by his daughter, Angela (Chris) Manczko of Elgin, Ill.; his son, Joshua Alford of St. Paul, Minn.; granddaughter, Ella Manczko; a grandson; sister, Diane Lothson of St. Paul, Minn.; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Olgar (Judy) Himle, Austin, Minn., Lee (Carol) Himle, Spring Valley, Minn., Gloria Himle, Hutchinson, Minn., Jim Lepeska, Minnetonka, Minn., Norm Pearson, Rochester, Minn.; and former wife, Kristi (Anderson) Alford of Austin, Minn.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, with the Rev. William Odermann officiating. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary for one hour before the service on Saturday morning. Honorary bearers will be Chris Manczko, Michael Brady, Eric Lothson and Patrick Brady. Memorials may be designated to the family.
