AnnaMae “Nick” Hansen, 90, formerly of Austin, Minn., died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minn.

AnnaMae was born on Aug. 9, 1923, in Austin, Minn., to David and Martha (Tramp) Nicol. She graduated from Elkton High School. AnnaMae married Alan Hansen on June 9, 1946, at the Dexter United Methodist Church. They lived in Austin until Alan’s retirement in 1981 when they moved to Spooner, Wis., where they built their lake home. They returned back to Austin in 2003.

AnnaMae was a homemaker, taught guitar for many years, and also ran the grocery store in Nicolville. She was a member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church in Austin and more recently a member of New Beginnings Christ Church in Brownsdale. First and foremost, she loved her lord. She enjoyed camping, fishing, berry picking, sewing and baking for her family and friends. She loved playing guitar and being with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alan in 2005; six brothers and two sisters.

AnnaMae is survived by her children, Dave “Butch” (Pat) Hansen, Kasson, Minn., Tim (Sandy) Hansen, Waseca, Minn., Jo (Bob) Clayton, Bemidji, Minn., Gayle Childs, Hayfield, Minn.; six grandchildren, Kris Allen, Kasson, Minn., Britt (Dewey) Schons, Madison Lake, Minn., Laurie (Jay) Reiplinger, Bemidji, Minn., Lonnie (Collin Tinsley) Hansen, Rochester, Minn., Kari (Kurt) Gross, Bemidji, Minn., Jerry (Shelley) Hansen, Owatonna, Minn.; nine great-grandchildren, Zach, Mattie, Dylan, Luke, Hannah, Landon, Kalli, Brady and Morgan; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. James Beyer officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary for one hour before the service.
