Meadowfest on deck for a new year

Grand Meadow’s grand summer celebration is coming back tomorrow.

Meadowfest will take place June 27, 28 and 29 this year. Activities include a firemen’s chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28. About 800 halves of chicken will be ready for residents for $8 and all proceeds will go toward fireworks.

There will be a Family Fun Night at Grand Meadow Public Schools from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, and the ever-popular Vintage Base Ball, which starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

“The parade of course is always our biggest event,” said Lori Stier, member of the Grand Meadow Lions Club.

The parade will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday.

7 p.m. — Kids/Family Fun Night at Grand Meadow Public Schools gym, library and Early Childhood and Family Education.

7 p.m. — 5K Run-Walk at Grand Meadow Public Schools

Saturday

8 a.m. — Coffee & Bake Sale at Grand Meadow Community Center

9 a.m. — Quilt Raffle at Grand Meadow Public Library

9 a.m. — Grand Meadow Marketplace & Craft Fair at Veterans Memorial Park

9:30 a.m. — BBQ Challenge at First Street Northeast, east of beer garden

10 a.m. — Meadowfest Car Show at Business Center Parking Lot

11 a.m. — Chicken BBQ at community center

2 p.m. — Grand Parade

3:30 p.m. — Money Sand Pile at Veterans Memorial Park

3:30 p.m. — Mud’n in the Meadow at the northwest edge of Grand Meadow

6 p.m. — Vintage Base Ball Game at the field south of Grand Meadow Public Schools

Sunday

11 a.m. — Church dinner at the United Church

1 p.m. — Kids’ water fights by the Grand Meadow City Park

1 p.m. — Bean Bag Bash at Grand Meadow Fire Department

1 p.m. — Paul Stier Memorial Skid Loader Rodeo & Tractor Driving Contest at the northwest edge of Grand Meadow
