The YMCA is adding a little distance to an annual race.

On Saturday, the YMCA of Austin will host its 14th annual 5K run/walk to raise funds for their financial assistance program.

New to this year’s race is a 10K run. While there are a number of 5K’s held in Austin each year, the YMCA is excited to add the 10K distance for people who enjoy longer races or may want to push themselves past the 5K.

The race will be chip timed and registration is open to the community. All of the proceeds will go towards the YMCA’s assistance program.

Registration is available online at www.ymca-austin.org or by filling out a race brochure and turning it into the Y front desk.

The races start at the YMCA at 9 a.m. and the YMCA will be taking registration at their front desk until 8:30 a.m. on the day of the race. The cost of the 5K is $25 and the cost of the 10K is $35.

The race starts in the YMCA parking lot.
