A line of strong storms is approaching the area.

The National Weather Service our of La Crosse, Wis., issued a special weather statement that a line of strong to severe thunderstorms extending from southern Minnesota into northern Iowa were moving northeast at 45 mph.

These systems would be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds if they maintain the same intensity.

Several counties to the west are under a tornado watch, but no watches or warnings have been issued in Mower County.
