Beverly “Bev” Walker, 74, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

She was born in Austin on April 4, 1940, to Nolan and Helen (Belshan) Lang. She attended school in Austin and graduated in 1958 from Austin High School. Bev married Elsworth Walker on Oct. 9, 1958, in Mapleview. Elsworth and Bev made Austin their home as they started their family. Bev loved being a homemaker while raising five children. She was known by her family as being a wonderful mother, grandmother, cook and caretaker. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, cross-stitching and spending time with her family. Bev was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin. Elsworth died on Nov.o 27, 2007.

Bev is survived by her children, Dale (Nancy) Walker of Sanger, Texas, Rodney (Annette) Walker of Hastings, Minn., Sherri (David) Rasmussen of Stevens Point, Wis., Michael (Peggy) Walker of Burnsville, Minn., Daniel (Lisa) Walker of Byron, Minn.; grandchildren, Adam, Jennifer, Alex, Nicole, Matt, Andrew, Jim, John, Emily and seven great-grandchildren.

Bev is preceded in death by her parents; husband Elsworth; brother Jimmy; and a grandson Ryan Machacek.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin with Rev. Mike Olmstead officiating. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at London Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to St. Lucas Care Center in Faribult.
