Dorothy “Dot” Meyer, 90 of Austin, Minn., died Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center, Grand  Meadow, Minn.

Dorothy “Dot” Jane Clayton was born Oct. 4, 1923, at Ada, Minn., the daughter of Richard and Henrietta (Fick) Clayton. She attended school and was married to Clarence A. Meyer on June 18, 1944, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale, Minn. Dorothy was a housewife and mother. She was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was active in the ladies aid and women’s circle.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Clarence Meyer, her parents, Richard and Henrietta Clayton, brothers, Donald, Robert and Gary Clayton and sisters, Pauline Clayton and Garda Kunkel.

She is survived by a son, Richard A. Meyer, of Winfield, Kan.; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl A. and Dennis Ree, of Austin; grandchildren, Jason (Michele) Ree, of Stewartville, Minn.; Jesse ( Emily) Ree, of Austin; Alicia Ree, of Austin; great grandchildren, Madison, Peyton and Ashton Ree, brother and sisters-in-law, David and Judy Clayton, of Rochester, Minn.; Roberta Clayton, of Brownsdale; Marilyn Clayton, of Cole Camp, Mo.; brother-in-law, Jesse Kunkel, of Concordia, Mo.; nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale with the Rev. Jeffrey J. Sage officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and at the church for one hour before the service on Friday. Memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale or to the Lutheran Hour.
