Charges filed after Frozen Four melee

MINNEAPOLIS — A Richfield man has been charged with assaulting a police officer during a skirmish that followed the University of Minnesota’s defeat in the Frozen Four championship game.

Twenty-two-year-old Michael Juberian is accused of throwing bottles and a chunk of concrete at officers. He faces a gross misdemeanor assault charge and a felony count of rioting with a dangerous weapon. One officer was hit by the concrete.

Nineteen people were arrested when crowds gathered in Dinkytown after the game Saturday night. Some people were given citations at the scene.
