Best Bets: When the fun comes around

Music, comedy and more await area residents this weekend as Austin warms up to a good time this spring. From a Johnny Cash tribute band to a little variety in entertainment, there’s plenty to see in Austin this weekend.

1. Walking the line to the show

7 p.m. Saturday, March 29. “Johnny Cash Tribute: The Man Comes Around” featuring One More Round. Old Terp Ballroom, Austin. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.

Love is a burnin’ flame, and this show might set everyone on fire as a tribute act to one of the most influential country stars ever comes to town. Get ready for a little Cash Saturday.

2. What a laugh

7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29. “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show” Comedy Show, Paramount Theatre. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the show.

Ready for a laugh? This comedy show features Benny Quash with Logan Neilsen, Jeff Larson, Laura Thorne and Lindsay Hensel as the M/C.

3. Time for variety

2 p.m. Sunday, March 30. “Riverland Variety Show” at Frank W. Bridges Theatre inside Riverland Community College, East Austin Campus. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students.

A good old fashioned variety show might be just what you wanted as talented Riverland students strut on the stage for your amusement. The show benefits Riverland’s music department, so don’t be afraid to come in and check it out.

4. A cycling stretch

6:30 p.m. Monday, March 31. “Yoga for Cyclists,” Rydjor Bike Shop. Tickets are $10.

Yoga? Cycling? Yoga and cycling? Find out how well the two activities go together as yoga instructors boost your exercise Monday at Rydjor Bike’s cycling class. Bring your bike and indoor trainer (Rydjor Bike has some extra trainers; if you need one, call 507-433-7571 or email rydjor@smig.net to reserve it) and a yoga Mat. Extra mats will be available.
